HBU Nursing Program Benefits

Receive Credit for Prior Learning

You receive credit for prior learning in a variety of ways. Houston Baptist University works hard to ensure you receive maximum credit for prior coursework and testing. Upon program enrollment, HBU may identify additional tests you can take for added credit such as CLEP exams.

Targeted, Efficient Learning

To meet the need for highly trained nursing staff in Texas hospitals and health care facilities, the online MSN and RN to BSN programs utilize a Competency-based Educational (CBE) format. Through CBE, you receive academic credit for mastery of competencies – not just completion of credit hours. Whether you learned skills in class or on the job, CBE makes sure your experience counts and allows you to progress at your own pace. Competencies are industry-aligned, utilizing next-generation technology and real-world simulations, so HBU’s MSN and RN to BSN programs produce highly skilled and competent nurse leaders.

Personalized Support for Success

You work virtually alongside world-renowned HBU faculty and support staff who provide individualized support throughout the program. Instead of learning in crowded lecture halls, you will receive real-time personalized feedback while working to master individual competencies. With 6:1 student to faculty ratios in clinical course for the MSN programs, help and support is never far away. The RN to BSN program provides each student with a success coach who is available for 1:1 individualized support throughout the program.

HBU’s School of Nursing and Allied Health developed strong relationships with many area healthcare facilities as well as a wide range of primary care facilities. Employer requirements for success are at the heart of the curriculum for each program. HBU’s close alignment with nurse leaders in a range of healthcare environments provide graduates the knowledge that the education received reflects the latest in progressive healthcare practices.
